Austin Miles Stowell was born on December 24, 1984 to Robert and Elizabeth in Kensington, Connecticut. His mother is an elementary school teacher while his father works in construction. Austin has two older brothers, Brian and Dan. Growing up in Connecticut, he was very involved in music and theater, but they took a back seat when he got to high school. Austin ended up playing baseball, football, and tennis. After a football injury sidelined him in his junior year, he went on to perform in a local theater production that reinvigorated his passion for acting. After graduating from Berlin High School, he went on to the University of Connecticut on a full scholarship, though he was already accepted at Central Connecticut State University to major in pre-law. Austin studied with the Department of Dramatic Arts, where he performed in productions of Julius Caesar, As You Like It, and It Can’t Happen Here with the Connecticut Repertory Theatre, and won the prestigious Nafe Katter Award for best performer his senior year. Upon graduating in 2007, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue acting professionally.
